Symptoms

When trying to load an old Power Tab .98 file (.pot) into Power Tab Editor, the program halts with an error.

More Information

Power Tab .98 files are reminants of a program built over a period of about 5 months in 1997. The program didn't get much support, so it was scrapped. In early 2000 when the first version of Power Tab Editor was released, a fair number of users complained about .98 files not working in Power Tab Editor.

Resolution

Download the .98 to 1.0 (.pot to .ptb) conversion tool from the Download Center.
