BUG: Power Tab Editor Causes Strange Playback In Other MIDI Sequencers

Article ID:000014
Category:MIDI Setup and Playback
Applies to:Power Tab Editor (1.7 and earlier)
Created:04-Sep-2001
Last updated:11-Feb-2005
Bug status:Open
Bug severity:Low
Revision number:14
Author(s):Brad Larsen

Symptoms

After using the Power Tab Editor, playback in another MIDI sequencer sounds strange.

Cause

The Power Tab Editor is not resetting the MIDI port back to it's default state after it has finished playing. This causes things like vibrato and pitchbend to remain active after the Editor has finished playing a song.

Resolution

Download the midireset program from the link that appears later on this page and run it. This small program will scan all MIDI ports on your machine and reset them to their default states.
